What SousBee is

SousBee is a mobile business management app for personal and private chefs. It helps you organise clients, bookings, menus, prep plans, shopping lists, proposals, and invoices in one place.

SousBee is a product of Optilake LTD, a company registered in England and Wales.

Your account

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You may only maintain one account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for the accuracy of the information you provide.

If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, contact us immediately at support@optilake.com.

Free trial

New accounts receive a 14-day free trial with full access to all features. No payment details are required to start the trial.

When the trial ends, your account switches to read-only mode. All your data is preserved — you can view and export everything, but you cannot create new bookings, send proposals, or enter Kitchen Mode until you subscribe.

Subscription and billing

SousBee Pro costs £39.99 per month. Subscriptions are billed and managed entirely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store — not by us directly.

Your data

You retain full ownership of all data you enter into SousBee, including client records, recipes, bookings, menus, and invoices. We do not claim any rights over your content.

You can export your data at any time. You can delete your account at any time. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your data.

Acceptable use

SousBee is intended for personal chef business use. You agree not to:

Client-facing features

SousBee lets you send proposals and dietary questionnaires to your clients via tokenised links. These links are accessible without a SousBee account.

Important: You are responsible for the accuracy of menus, pricing, and allergy information you send to your clients through SousBee. SousBee is a tool — it does not verify allergen data, validate pricing, or guarantee food safety. Professional due diligence remains your responsibility.

Intellectual property

The SousBee app, brand, design, and source code are owned by Optilake LTD. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for its intended purpose while your account is active.

Service availability

We aim to keep SousBee available at all times, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may need to take the service offline for maintenance, and we are not liable for downtime caused by hosting providers, network issues, or circumstances beyond our control.

Active Kitchen Mode sessions are designed to work offline — a service interruption during a cook day will not disrupt your in-progress session.

Warranty disclaimer

SousBee is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose beyond its stated features. We make no guarantees about the accuracy of recipe scaling, cost calculations, or any other computed values — always verify critical information independently.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Optilake LTD shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity arising from your use of the service.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid for SousBee in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Optilake LTD from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from: (a) your use of the service, (b) your violation of these terms, or (c) your interaction with your own clients through the service.

Termination

You can stop using SousBee and delete your account at any time from Settings > Account > Delete Account. Upon deletion, all your data is permanently removed from our servers.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with reasonable notice where possible.

If we ever decide to shut down SousBee entirely, we will give you at least 90 days' notice and ensure you can export all your data before the service ends.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of SousBee after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, though we will always try to resolve issues informally first.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
